Christian Counseling And What You Should Know

According to Johnson and Ridley, Christian Counseling involves four aspects: accommodation, this means that the patient will succeed if he or she has the same values as the therapy; the hope, based on the motivation we give to our patients, supported by all means with God’s Word, the Bible, the truth based on Jesus Christ as a Role model. The most important of these four aspects is the divine agent (God, Jesus and Holy Spirit) participating in the therapy. These four elements help the patient increase his or her sensitivity, values and Christian beliefs.

With counseling, Bruce Narramore began to add to its practice psychology, to help understand what was going on in the mind of the patients, thus the Christianization of psychology and psychiatry began.

Only doctors and graduates knew the scientific methods of psychology and psychiatry. Christian Counselors began to study these methods and incorporate Christian theology to improve them.

Counseling helps people overcome difficulties that they cannot face or overcome by themselves. Counselors bring God’s Word to the patient, and show them a solution, using the Bible as an example. Since all of humanities problems are bi-products of sin, the teachings of Jesus Christ helps them to overcome this evil within them. Counseling opens the eyes of the client by teaching them the difference between good and bad.

This type of counseling helps people to: find redemption, learn to how to forgive and to be forgiven, learn based on Jesus Christ’s life, how we must behave in society, to overcome our sins and to have a better life full of joy and peace with God’s help. Through Christian Counseling a person can be set free from the bondage of sin.

Christian Counseling has its values based on divine principles. Accept the Bible as the final authority in all matters of conduct and life. Which means putting the Lord Jesus Christ as an example. Trying to follow in his steps! The success of the counseling depends not only on you, but in the Holy Spirit. By walking and living in the Spirit you will not be fulfilling the lust of the flesh. Through the grace of God a person is able to be over-comer. All people have a propensity to sin, but the soul that God gave us is more valuable than anything else. Christian Counseling will help you deal with the past and to confront your present, giving you the power to have a changed life. It is supported by Bible! Its for all those who want to overcome their problems and have a more productive and pleasing life.

With Christian counseling, the goal is to offer people more of a chance to have a better life. Healing, recovery, purpose and hope are not in impossible . We are all fearfully and wonderfully made by our Creator who loves us and cares about us more than we can possibly comprehend. Our future and the future of our loved ones are affected by the intents of our hearts that become actions. The teachings of Jesus Christ can only help us in making this world a better place, if we believe and are willing to seek the counsel of the godly through Christian Counseling.
